Your Specific Responsibilities:
Supervisory employees are those who spend the majority of their time communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, and planning and directing employees’ work, and who have the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action, including all employees serving as supervisors, administrators, and directors. Section 110.205(2)(w), Florida Statutes.
This position is responsible for planning, directing, coordinating, and supervising the activities of professional staff providing consulting services and programmatic support to the RA Program to improve and execute operational procedures.
Manages and oversees various sections of the Employer Support Unit’s to ensure compliance with established performance standards and customer service to state employers is provided accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner. Advises management on problems and policies related to program and operational issues. Proposes organizational and budgetary improvements related to program and operational issues as needed. Develops and/or administers a tracking system with workload standards which are used as a measure of effectiveness and efficiency of the Employer Support Unit. Confers regularly with section supervisors and managers on the resolution of the more difficult or unusual programmatic technical problems. Engages staff, state employers and the Customer Support Center Employer Hotline to identify areas of concern and recommends possible solutions.
Prepares and insures uniformity of policies, instructions, directives, and other procedures among the sections. Directs the preparation of letters, reports, and statistical data on the various section activities. Ensures that timely and accurate responses are made to inquiries pertaining to the various section responsibilities. Evaluates administrative, production, and fiscal reports relating to Employer Support Unit activities. Represents the Manager at conference meetings as required.
Participates in the selection and hiring of staff and recommends applicants based on merit and qualifications. Makes recommendations regarding firing, promotions, transfers, and other personnel related actions affecting staff in the Employer Support Unit. Ensures that personnel receive appropriate programmatic and technical training commensurate with their job responsibilities and is generally responsible for the development of associates. Assists and guides supervisors in making personnel assignments and in handling difficult personnel problems.
