Maintenance Manager
Position Summary:
The Maintenance Manager is tasked with overseeing maintenance and engineering support functions, managing plant improvement projects, and optimizing maintenance programs through predictive and preventive maintenance techniques. Additionally, they provide essential technical support for plant and process enhancements and fulfill various engineering responsibilities as assigned.
Major Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the General Manager, Operations Manager, and Plant Engineer to support the achievement of plant targets.
- Keep Operations informed about changes in planned and emergent work affecting operational plans.
- Generate timely, accurate, and informative reports in a format conducive to analysis and decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with site directives, standards, and policies.
- Prioritize tasks to align with evolving organizational demands.
- Develop a comprehensive site-wide maintenance plan, addressing both short-term and long-term goals in line with organizational priorities and plant availability targets.
- Develop project plans, allocate resources, and manage personnel to meet organizational needs.
- Conduct regular Maintenance Coordination Meetings to discuss maintenance status and plans.
- Adhere to all safety procedures and encourage a safety-focused work environment.
- Employ a systematic, objective approach to troubleshoot equipment and systems.
- Analyze problems systematically, considering all potential solutions.
- Review and evaluate operating data to monitor plant performance and take corrective measures to enhance equipment reliability and operating efficiency.
- Provide recommendations for equipment and system improvements.
- Implement the Performance Evaluation Process as a means of employee development and feedback, with a continuous improvement focus on enhancing employee skills.
- Execute the career development process, providing training and development opportunities to ensure the competence and availability of skills necessary to meet operational requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure adequate inventories are maintained to meet operational needs.
- Evaluate, select, and oversee contractors and service providers to ensure compliance with requirements at an optimized cost.
- Plan, prepare, manage, and allocate annual and long-range budgets for equipment, parts and supplies, tools, and maintenance contracts.
Requirements
Required Qualifications and Experience:
To excel in this role, individuals must proficiently fulfill each essential duty. The following qualifications represent the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities:
- General knowledge of power plant technology.
- Demonstrated experience and proficiency in a Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo).
- General awareness of safety and environmental procedures.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Capacity for leadership and supervisory responsibilities, emphasizing continuous competency/skill development for both themselves and their team.
- Ability to function effectively within a team.
- Consistent attendance practices.
- Exemplary safety practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft tools (Excel, Teams, Word, PowerPoint).
- Effective teamwork and communication skills.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in multi-disciplined maintenance roles at a gas turbine combined cycle power plant or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience managing multi-disciplined maintenance teams at a large-frame gas turbine combined cycle power plant or equivalent.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or equivalent experience preferred.
- Advanced degree and/or professional license preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proof of legal authorization to work full-time in the US for any employer other than the current one.
