Job Description:
We are seeking a seasoned and visionary technical leader to spearhead our next-generation product development initiative. In this role, you will oversee the design, engineering, and manufacturing of a groundbreaking hardware platform, produced at scale for mass adoption. The successful candidate will lead a high-performing, cross-functional engineering team comprising mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to deliver disruptive solutions to the market.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development of a state-of-the-art hardware platform, delivering high-impact products for millions of users.
Build and manage a world-class engineering team.
Oversee mechanical and electrical engineering, design for manufacturing, and product optimization.
Guide product development from concept through to commercial launch in an Agile environment (prioritize, planning, execution, removal of impediments, continuous improvement).
Drive collaboration between engineering, product, and manufacturing teams to deliver on ambitious timelines and goals.
Manage cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless communication and integration between hardware, software, and product development.
Make critical decisions on technical direction and strategies.
Partner with franchise heads, product managers, and manufacturing leads to ensure alignment with project goals and deliverables.
Develop hardware strategy and drive integration with other component roadmaps
Lead technical trade-offs and guide architectural decisions that optimize product design for scalability and manufacturing.
Develop joint roadmap with external parties that achieves technical and business objectives.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and quality standards throughout product development.
Create and maintain timeline budget
Chooses risk/reward tradeoffs for strategic direction with broad impact.
Develop and own IP strategy with internal council

Hiring, talent development and management for the engineering teams
Education and Experience:
BA/BS in Engineering, 18+ years of engineering experience, including leadership roles, with a minimum of 5 years in product development.
Medical device industry experience is required.
Agile product development experience highly recommended
Thorough working knowledge of ISO 13485
