The eEHS Technician will be responsible for essential energy, environmental, health and safety (eEHS) actions, initiatives & compliance related to eEHS systems, inspections, training, and records management.

Pay Range is $24.82-$38.24 per hour.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Promote energy, environmental, health and safety awareness throughout the organization through effective employee communications and engagement.
  • Work with relevant safety teams in safety inspections, ergonomic risk assessments, job hazard analysis and wellness initiatives to ensure high employee engagement.
  • Assist in performing Safety Reviews – New & Modified equipment, machine moves, follow all open issues to closure.
  • Assist in performing Machine Guarding – attend design reviews, provide input on safety & ergonomics, ensure meets OSHA specifications and BW Global guidelines requirements.
  • Ergonomics projects and analysis Support in developing and updating procedures – for compliance, corrective actions, new regulatory requirements and BW requirements.
  • Ensure eEHS programs meet requirements by conducting routine inspections and tracking closure using EHS Software.
  • Ensure shop floor compliance with all internal eEHS standards as well as external compliance obligations.
  • Assist in incident investigations, including root cause analysis, corrective actions, preventive actions, and closure.
  • Support electronic and physical recordkeeping efforts to improve mistake-proofing, data collection, and user-friendliness.
  • Apply 5S principles to file and maintain records of all environmental and safety data.
  • Assist in identifying areas of training needs, development of training material, and coordinating with the training department for execution.
  • Play an active role in Safety Leadership Team meetings & Internal Auditor, take and maintain meeting minutes, and actively participate in the facility's ongoing ISO compliance programs (ISO14001/ISO45001/ISO50001, OSHA VPP). Coordinate and Schedule, eEHS system routine and additional inspection and/or audits  and assign to appropriate parties.
  • Assist in the development of eEHS goals, procedures, objectives, and targets. Collect and enter data into our EHS system.
  • Support continuous improvement in eEHS programs.
  • Provide emergency response support (Fire, Medical, Spill). Conduct routine environmental and safety inspections (Storm Water, Wastewater, Hazardous Waste, SPCC).
  • Assist in the formation and update of Job Safety Analyses (JSAs). Assist in environmental cleanup efforts, such as hazardous waste disposal or spill response.
  • Coordinate IH Sampling – Air, Noise & other - Conduct noise level and air sample monitoring.
  • Active role in chemical management, ensure chemicals are approved, stored properly, and Safety Data Sheets are maintained.
  • Use required PPE, follow safety rules and procedures, train others, and comply with plant safety code of conduct.
  • Assist with safety and health training, including development, scheduling, tracking, and conducting.
  • Attend safety and health training sessions.
  • Practice good 5S and housekeeping.
  • Assist with special safety and health projects as assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:


         EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health Standards or related field.
  • Certification in EHS or related field preferred.
  • Must have a basic understanding of applicable Federal and State (OSHA & EPA) regulations and their application as it relates to the Safety and Health functions.
  • OSHA 10-Hour, First Aid/CPR/AED, Machine Guarding or other Safety Training certification(s) preferred.
  • Previous experience in an EHS role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Required to travel both domestic and international – 10-15%

  • Knowledge of OSHA & EPA regulations and other relevant EHS standards.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills for both internal and external Customers.

  • Strong organization and planning skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
