Key Accountabilities

• Cutting and trimming meat against strict specifications.
• Checking the product against specifications (size, weight, colour, packaging etc.)
• Adjusting machine settings to handle changes from one size/type of product to another.
• Identifying errors/faults and taking appropriate steps to rectify these.
• Reporting faults in machinery or goods to Production Supervisor
• Packing goods ready for shipment in crates, boxes or dolavs (as required), against quantity and layout specifications.
• Preparing product for despatch. This could include taping, labelling and wrapping in approved protective coatings.
• Ensuring hygiene and cleanliness procedures are followed at all times (e.g. hand-washing, knife sterilising and kit wash-down), food safety is a key imperative.
• Where the individual has responsibility for goods in/goods out, ensuring goods are used on a short code first basis.
• Competently performing any other tasks for which training has been completed and signed off.

Skills and Experience Required

• Strong communication skills with the capability to communicate confidently internally & externally
• Good team working skills with ability to participate in a team atmosphere through hard work, calmness, tolerance and consistency.
• Able to work within an agreed established framework and cope with pressure, taking responsibility for decisions and able to work unsupervised and on their own initiative.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to report accurately.
• Excellent people skills, ability to listen and accept and learn from constructive criticism.
• Tactical thought process, able to challenge convention and identify alternative ways of working.
• Relationship builder with the ability to build and develop strong personal relationships with the customer and internally within the company.
• IT Literate (relevant levels for scope of role).
• High levels of professionalism, integrity and ethical awareness
