Job Overview
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Warehouse Lead to join our team, reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager. In this role, you will lead a team of Material Handlers and manage daily operations related to inventory receipt, control, and delivery. The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to maintain a broad perspective on warehouse activities. You should possess sharp analytical and problem-solving abilities, practical judgment, and excellent organizational skills, with a talent for prioritizing, multitasking, and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating and managing daily workload with the team.
- Unloading and inspection of incoming deliveries.
- Processing of receipt in ERP system in accordance with Purchase Order and BOL.
- Communicating any discrepancies at receipt.
- Recording incoming deliveries and receipts in accordance with warehouse SOP.
- Storage and preservation of inventory and supplies, including hazardous chemicals, gases, biological samples and temperature sensitive materials.
- Attention to detail when identifying and labeling incoming material.
- Performing inventory counts in accordance with Inventory Control Policy.
- Maintaining adequate supply at all times by monitoring on-hand quantities.
- Transport and store quarantined and released materials throughout the warehouse or designated areas.
- Maintaining high service level with internal customers.
- Maintain accurate record keeping and follow established procedures.
- Stocking laboratory with supplies adhering to FEFO standards.
- Maintaining compliance to DOT, IATA, OSHA and other state and federal regulations, including internal procedures and policies.
- May occasionally lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise manipulate objects up to 50 pounds in weight frequently or continuously.
- Performing general housekeeping in accordance with 5S standards, and other related duties as assigned.
- Coordinating and/or leading a continuous improvement activity.
- Understanding basic reports to provide team direction and support.
Ideal Candidate
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years of experience with shipping, receiving, inventory control, and stockroom functions in a warehouse.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel and Word. Must be familiar with Outlook.
- Comfortable with computerized Purchasing/Inventory Management/ERP systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding work environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and competing demands.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Blood Borne Pathogen training a plus.
- Experience working in a healthcare or biotechnology company a plus.
- Leadership experience preferred.
