Mission Software Engineer (Travel 80%)

ABOUT THE TEAM

The Air Dominance & Strike team at Anduril develops aerial and multi-domain robotic systems. The team is responsible for taking products like Fury (unmanned fighter jet) and Barracuda (air-breathing cruise missile) from concept to product. The team also develops Lattice for Mission Autonomy, Anduril’s premier software platform that enables masses of Fury, Barracuda, and other first and third party robots to collaborate across various missions. We work in close coordination with specialist teams like Perception, Motion Planning, Hardware, and Test Engineering to solve some of the hardest problems facing our customers. 

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• This is a unique and very exciting role. This person will be traveling to maritime test sites working on Unmanned Surface Vessels (USVs).
• Job responsibilities will include:
  • Designing automations and mechanisms for updating software on the USVs
  • Understanding and debugging both first and third party software running onboard the platform
  • Figuring out processes to improve reliability over time
  • Investigate hardware with unknown configurations to understand and reconfigure appropriately for lattice autonomy

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Top Secret security clearance
• Excited and willing to travel a majority of the time, about 80% (mostly domestic with some international)
  • Occasionally onsite to meet the team, work on HITL, but majority of time traveling
  • "home base" can be HQ, DC or Seattle
• Drivers license required
• Must be physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs
• Strong engineering background from industry or school, ideally in areas/fields such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• 3+ years working with a variety of programming languages such as C++ or Rust
• Experienced working in Linux systems
• Having a blend of networking and software experience
• Familiarity with hardware in general
• Experience with software integration
• A desire to work on critical software that has a real-world impact

 

US Salary Range$120,000—$200,000 USD

 

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations.
