Job Profile Title

Research Investigator, Senior

Job Description Summary

Leads, oversees, and designs advanced computational and bioinformatic experiments in coordination with the principal investigator. Necessary skills include expertise in several advanced coding languages (Python, R), machine learning, deep learning, DNA-Seq, RNA-Seq and multi-omics bioinformatic pipelines, using the HPC cluster, advanced statistical testing, identification and structural evaluation of DNA repeats in genomic data sets, and other computational skills. Qualified candidates will have a substantial understanding of DNA damage response and computational methods used to identify biomarkers of response to DNA damage response inhibitors. SRI will assist the principal investigator in developing and implementing several research projects in this field of study, as well as assist other laboratory members with computational and statistical analyses pertinent to their research. SRI will also be responsible for preparing manuscripts and grant proposals, as well as presenting research finding in various forums. The position requires the ability to work independently, mange multiple projects, and effectively collaborate within a multidisciplinary research environment.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform data analysis and other aspects of quantitative and qualitative research related to main research project

  • Review, edit, format, and write manuscripts for publication and of grant proposals

  • Assist PI, postdoctoral researchers, graduate students, and undergraduate students with data analysis, as assigned by PI

  • Other research and administrative duties

  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Philosophy, and 5 to 7 years of postdoctoral experience is required.
