Summary:
The role of this position is to maintain a safe, functional, clean, efficient, and attractive learning environment at the Washington College of Law. Responsibilities include assisting with the evaluation, repair, and replacement of facilities; performing quality inspections; handling tasks such as hanging pictures, drywall, and painting; and completing minor repairs as part of the building maintenance team. This position operates under direct supervision.
The selected candidate will respond to requests for minor maintenance and repair from facilities management customers, performs minor repair tasks, and communicates condition needs to others for quick and efficient service and repair of deficiencies. They will also assist other trades as required or assigned, in order that work assigned is done in a timely manner. They will perform other duties as assigned, under supervision. Completes records as directed by Facility Manager, to ensure accurate record keeping.
Essential Functions:
Assists with the installation and maintenance of mechanical and HVAC equipment, including air handling units, pumps, fan coil units, VAV units, DOAS units, and exhaust fans.
Performs minor corrective and preventive maintenance and supports other trades as needed to ensure safe, efficient operations and a comfortable learning environment.
Assists in escorting contractors performing work on-site.
Inspects all building mechanical rooms and equipment, in order to provide a safe and clean working condition for employees.
Assists other trades people, in order to perform and accomplish high quality work.
Attends department meetings, as well as technical and safety-related training, to stay current with equipment, procedures, and safety practices in the building.
Maintains accurate files and equipment records for deferred maintenance analysis, in order to build a historical database from which to efficiently manage future project costs.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
Full-time.
40 hours per week.
Salary Range:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour.
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
1 - 3 years of relevant experience.
