Experience
- No minimum experience required
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in related field (Psychology, Education, Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavioral Health, Occupational Therapy, Speech Language Pathology, etc.)
- Experience in the implementation of behavioral assessment/treatment programs with children with developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of normal/abnormal growth and development throughout the age continuum
- Experience with Microsoft Office
- Current Registered Behavior Technician certification
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Certification Summary
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through American Heart Association (AHA) within 30 days of employment
- RBT certification within 90 days of employment
- Completion of Marcus Crisis Prevention Program (MCPP) Tier Five within 90 days of employment
- Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) within 90 days of employment
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to provide, assess, interpret, and communicate client-specific data in response to treatment protocols
- Strong organizational and time management skills along with ability to manage multiple tasks
- Excellent customer service skills, communication skills, and the ability to communicate well in person, in writing, and on the phone
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Ability to quickly adapt to change while maintaining a positive attitude
- Ability to work effectively in pressured situations and demonstrate the ability to diffuse escalating situations
- Understanding that this role is exposed to complex behavior such as personal insults and offensive language, aggression, self-injury, elopement, expulsion (i.e., spitting out foods or liquids during treatment) and property destruction. Staff are commonly required to wear adaptive clothing and protective equipment to maintain the safety of the client and staff.
