Description of Duties
Assists in the development and implementation of work packages and Task Orders. May provide direction and input on projects from design development stage through construction. Ensures Designers and Contractors are meeting CEQA/NEPA and/or Entitlement requirements. Assists in facilitating coordination with other LAWA divisions and regulatory agencies (Planning, FAA, TSA, AQMD, SHPO, EPA, etc.) as appropriate. Assist in implementing messaging plan, notices, contingency planning and other tasks as needed.
Project and Position Description
The Terminal 5 Renovation & Reconstruction (T5 R&R) Low Voltage Special Systems (LVSS) Project Manager reports to the T5 R&R Terminal Project Manager and is responsible for driving and overseeing design and execution of all IT, special systems and technology systems for the T5 R&R project. The T5 R&R LVSS PM provides oversight of the design-builder’s design and execution of IT disciplines per LAWA standards.
This position will act as the primary IT liaison and airport/owner representative responsible for T5 R&R project. Primarily, this role/individual shall act as a liaison between the project and Information Management & Technology (IMT) and manage the details required to execute this effort and rollout without impact to airport or airline operations. Successful candidate shall display experience with large stakeholder infaces ensuring inclusion, while understanding and driving the small details that go into signage design concepts, installation and activation.
The Terminal 5 Program covers the full demolition and rebuild of the Terminal 5 headhouse and concourse, as well as various enabling scopes to vacate the existing building.

- Leader in stakeholder engagement to identity, communicate, resolution and accomplishment their needs, while preserving the principles and criteria of the project scope, schedule and budget constraints
- Knowledge in design and construction contracting practices and methodologies
- Knowledge and experience in the project design life cycle from Concept to Project Definition Book to Permit to Bulletins
- Knowledge and experience in the project construction life cycle from Pre-Construction to estimating/buyout to phasing to implementation to Closeout
- Ability to assemble KPI’s and decisions needed for Governance and presentation to others, including the executive staff
- Maintaining an excellent working relationship with the design and construction professionals geared towards open communications and mutual problem solving in the best interest of the project and all other parties involved
