Job Summary:
Perform as the AUX & CREW Functional Area Planning and Material Support Assistant to provide support services to the SUPSHIP Newport News RCOH, Execution and Planning Teams. The individual will assist in coordinating the development of the AUX & CREW work package with the SUPSHIP Newport News RCOH Maintenance Planning Manager (MPM); this will include integration of all modernization, repairs and services work; areas of concern include CVN Engineering systems, Auxiliary Systems, Conveyors, Elevators, Galley Systems, and Crew habitability systems, and supporting systems.
The individual will also maintain close contact with numerous programmatic and technical organizations during work package development and project execution; these include, but are not limited to, SUPSHIP Newport News, NSWC, ESU, Project Team members and support organizations, Program Office PMS312, System Commands, ISEAs, PARMs, and Ship's Force.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain the Authorized Work Package for the Refueling and Complex Overhaul of an Aircraft Carrier
Monitor shipbuilder's material procurement for the following attributes: timely ordering, material quantity validation, and budget analyses
Assist in the review and evaluation of Cost Data Sheets
Attend meetings as required with Government and shipyard project teams to monitor status of AWP development, advanced material procurement, and participate in Aux & Crew Integrated Process Team
Assist in the review of shipbuilder provided data for periodic RCOH advanced planning technical instruction reconciliations and provide analysis and recommendations to the SUPSHIPNN Project Team and PMS 312 APM
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
Relevant experience with CVN Engineering systems, Auxiliary Systems, Conveyors, Elevators, Galley Systems, and Crew habitability systems
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Former US Navy Chief Petty Officer, Chief Warrant Officer, or Limited Duty Officer
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university
Experience working with or at a shipyard, Naval Surface/Undersea Warfare Center (NSWC/NUWC), Supervisor of Shipbuilding Command (SUPSHIP), Regional Maintenance Center (RMC), and/or Type Commander (TYCOM) supporting construction, operation, maintenance, modernization, and/or repair of shipboard Auxiliary and Crew Habitability systems.
Security Clearance Requirements:
US Citizen and must possess an active U.S. Government Secret Security clearance
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
The person in this position frequently communicates with co-workers, management and customers, which may involve delivering presentations.
Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations
Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer
