Job Description

Assists in supervising and inspecting the day to day operation, maintenance and presentation of the Fitness Center. Supports daily operations through assisting guests, providing orientations to the wellness center and equipment, aids with on-boarding documentation, class check-in and front desk support.

Experience

  • 2 years of experience in wellness
  • 2 years of experience in a customer service environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in wellness coaching
  • Experience in exercise testing and prescription
  • Experience in program design and development
  • Experience in teaching fitness classes
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Behavioral Science, Nutrition, Exercise and Health Science, or related field

Education

  • High School Diploma

Certification Summary

  • BLS/HeartSaver/AED Certification
  • Personal Training, Group Fitness and/or similar wellness certification

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Must be able to work with a diverse employee population
  • Working knowledge of wellness specifically in fitness, nutrition or coaching
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • If no KSAs are required, write “No minimally required knowledge, skills, or abilities.”

Job Responsibilities

  • Greets employees, answer questions/ concerns and monitor the Fitness Center inbox
  • Updates message boards and schedules daily
  • Assists with class registration, massage bookings, and coaching appointments
  • Assists with locker room stocking, lost and found
  • Assists with opening and closing procedures
  • Documents employee orientations and on-boarding
  • Monitors par levels and restock items as needed
  • Assists with daily reports as needed
  • Performs retail transactions with the POS system
  • Cleans and straightens equipment throughout the day
  • Communicates policies and procedures as needed
