WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING| THE ROLE
The Financial Analyst will support Fitch Irick’s financial and operational goals by providing in-depth financial analysis, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and performance tracking for the development portfolio. This role will be instrumental in helping the organization maintain financial discipline, improve profitability, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to affordable housing projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of projected annual operating budgets for proposed properties, including revenue and expense forecasting. Monitor financial performance throughout the year and provide recommendations for adjustments as necessary.
- Financial Modeling: Develop and maintain financial models to assess the feasibility of new and existing real estate projects, including acquisitions, developments, and renovations.
- Cash Flow Management: Track and analyze cash flow for each property, ensuring that funds are appropriately allocated and available for operational and capital needs during the construction and conversion phases.
- Variance Analysis: Conduct variance analysis on budgeted vs. actual performance, identify the root cause of discrepancies, and provide actionable recommendations to management.
- Financial Documentation: Prepare reports and presentations for senior management, investors, and stakeholders. Communicate findings and financial insights to assist with decision-making.
- Ad Hoc Analysis: Provide financial analysis support for special projects, acquisitions, and new business opportunities as required.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams such as accounting, operations, management and development to ensure financial data is accurate and consistent across the organization.
- Review and analyze written proposals from tax credit syndicators and lenders and advise management with recommendations.
- Assist with debt and equity capital raising by preparing investment packages, soliciting proposals from potential lenders and investors, responding to questions, and negotiating terms.
- Review property performance and present stakeholders accurate financial reporting for permanent loan conversions
- Import financial data into the USDA Rural Development Preliminary Assessment Tool and assist with the underwriting process
- Other special projects as needed
