TITLE: Resort Guest Service Associate
LOCATION: Snowbird Center
STATUS: Seasonal, Part-time, Hourly
SUMMARY
Resort Guest Service Associates work mainly inside the Mountain Center at the Snowbird Center, in a centralized space working with other department team members as well as outdoors in guest facing areas. GSAs identify the needs of every guest and pair each with the best fitting product or service Snowbird has to offer. Associates will be trained in a variety of programs and sales software to have the ability to sell all Snowbird products from their location. As a member of the Resort Guest Services team, Guest Service Associates will also be provided with information relating to all aspects of Snowbird Ski and Summer Resort to share this knowledge with guests at every interaction. This role requires quick and effective communication and sales skills, as well as advanced problem resolution techniques.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Identify the best Snowbird product available to meet the needs of each guest.
- Work with a variety of sales and software programs to sell available products and book reservations/services for guests.
- Maintain the Mountain Center space to provide a welcoming and positive environment for every guest.
- Acknowledge and resolve any guest service or safety concerns brought to your attention.
- Provide information about Snowbird resort to guests on a constant basis, answering questions accurately and providing resources as appropriate.
- Promote Snowbird’s full range of products by encouraging guests to challenge themselves on a progressive path in a safe and exciting manner.
- Work with your Snowbird teammates in a variety of departments to ensure seamless guest experience.
- Operate the ski check service on the Plaza Deck daily, as assigned.
- Assist guests with accessing and assignment of seasonal locker rentals in the Snowbird Center and at Creekside Lodge.
- In summer, maintain the Blackjack Mine on a daily and weekly basis.
WHAT YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB DONE
- Strong guest service skills. Previous work in guest or customer services, concierge, valet, resort sales, or similar guest-facing role preferred.
- This is a high energy job with constant interactions with guests. Team members should be able to multi-task, maintaining a kind and confident demeanor while processing requests and sales transactions.
- Role requires the ability to solve problems that arise, without constant supervision from management team. Associates should be prepared to acknowledge issues and respond to guests with positive solutions.
- A willingness to quickly and efficiently pair guests with services and products to suit their needs.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with sales platforms such as RTP, Flaik, and Square are a plus.
- Eagerness to learn new skills and embrace a constantly changing environment are encouraged.
- Strong communication skills.
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- At least 18 years of age.
WORK SCHEDULE
- Seasonal / Part-time positions available.
- Weekly scheduled hours will vary based on business levels and may range from 20-35 hours per week.
- Daily schedule: 730am to 530pm – winter, 10 am to 6 pm – summer. Variable hours in spring/fall.
- Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
- Option for daily ski & ride breaks as business levels fluctuate.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- May experience unusual stress from high business volumes, deadlines, continual work with public, winter conditions, snow night requirements and commuting to/from Snowbird.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Will be required to work outdoors involving exposure to cold, sun and other extreme weather conditions.
- Work is subject to frequent interruptions, making continuity and accuracy difficult.
- Frequent exposure to noise and high guest volume.
