As a Maintenance Planner/Scheduler, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:
- Review and analyze incoming work orders to identify materials, craftsperson time, priorities, and other requirements for scheduling and completing the work.
- Estimate job costs, including crafts time, materials, tools, and equipment downtime; submit estimates to superior(s) for approval prior to developing work order schedule.
- Develop weekly maintenance work schedule based on materials availability, priority of request(s), production considerations, and craftsperson time availability.
- Ensure accuracy of shop work orders in the Maintenance Management System for accurate accounting and record keeping.
- Review actual versus planned work order reports to assure effectiveness of planning and scheduling process, and to identify problem areas if any in completing work as planned.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this 3M Production role, in compliance with U.S. labor and safety laws.
- Associate’s degree or higher in Maintenance, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field (completed and verified prior to start)
- Two (2) year(s) of in maintenance planning, maintenance scheduling, or a related manufacturing/operations role in a private, public, government or military environment
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Applicants meeting the basic qualifications may be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as a part of the selection process.
Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Maintenance, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Five (5) years of maintenance planning/scheduling in a manufacturing or industrial environment, in a private, public, government or military environment
- Experience developing weekly and daily labor schedules for multi-craft maintenance teams.
- Experience reviewing and processing maintenance work orders.
- Knowledge of equipment downtime tracking, job costing, and planned vs. actual work analysis.
- Experience supporting continuous improvement, reliability, or maintenance process improvement initiatives.

- Work location: This role follows an on-site working model, requiring the employee to work at least five days a week at the 3M Location in Nevada, MO.

Pay Transparency:
The starting rate of pay rate is $29.87 - $39.72. This targeted compensation range represents a good faith estimate and can vary based on factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and education.
