Kleinfelder is seeking a Business Development Specialist to support our business development efforts in our San Diego, CA office.
We are seeking a Business Development Specialist with at least 3 years of experience working in the engineering, construction management, or architecture industry. Overall, the BD Specialist will be responsible for the development and production of proposals and statement of qualifications in response to public agency procurement solicitations. This position requires strong organizational skills, writing and proofreading abilities (technical writing experience a plus), coordination with different teams and outside partners, and the ability to multi-task and handle multiple deadlines.
The ideal candidate has:
- An excellent grasp of marketing fundamentals, visual communications, and knowledge of theoretical and practical developments in the A/E industry.
- Strong grammar and writing skills.
- The creative ability to design appropriate and relevant graphics.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple assignments under set deadlines.
- The ability to demonstrate and provide critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- The flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and direction in a dynamic work environment.
- A "client service" mindset while working in close partnership with technical professionals (scientists, architects, and engineers).
- Have strong verbal communication skills and ability to organize, prepare for, and attend marketing meetings.
- The desire to continuously learn and grow into greater responsibility within the organization.
As the Business Development Specialist, you are responsible for supporting the Division with the following:
- Opportunity pursuit and capture planning execution.
- Proposal development and support.
- Developing Client-specific One-Page marketing collateral.
- Support service line growth initiative by supporting strategy development and collateral required to advance the strategy(ies).
- Creating, updating and developing resumes and project descriptions.
- Developing presentations for client meetings and interviews.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in marketing or sales with a professional services firm
- Associates degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school required. Bachelor's degree preferred in English, Marketing, Journalism or Communications.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe InDesign.
