Job Description

No Job Description for a position can possibly include all duties which may be requested by guests or required by the hotel.  The objective of all positions is to effectively provide the services personally, or to immediately refer requests to the appropriate department manager.  The following is a summary of the major responsibilities of the position.

 

National Sales Manager (remote based preferably in Virginia, Maryland, DC or Pennsylvania)

 

Purpose:  To fully develop a specific Group Market Segment within the northern Virginia, DC and northeast geographic territory as designated by the Director of Sales & Marketing and Director of Sales, concentrating on the solicitation of new and profitable business while retaining existing business from that market.  To solicit qualified four-to-five-star clientele for a luxury resort experience to include guestrooms, indoor/outdoor event space, multiple activities and teambuilding. Maximize revenue and profit for the resort.  Ensure the customer is set up for a flawless conference experience and the resort is set up for success.  To achieve monthly room night and revenue goals, develop and implement sales action plans, maintain positive interdepartmental communications, and complete special projects as assigned by the Director of Sales and Marketing and Director of Sales.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions: 

  • Achieve monthly, quarterly and yearly room night and revenue bookings goals.
  • Achieve team budgeted room rate and revenues.
  • Solicit accounts within assigned market segment and/or geographical territory.
  • Prospect and develop new accounts in line with the hotel's target market.
  • Maintain a comprehensive territory road map with key accounts and prospects for each territory assigned.
  • Maintain aggressive weekly telephone, site inspection and personal call goals.
  • Use all prospect sources as identified.
  • Follow up promptly on leads generated by the Global Sales offices and other lead generation services.
  • Active involvement in industry association and trade shows.
  • Is knowledgeable of the subtleties inherent in the various market segments and of the role it plays in maintaining the profitability of the hotel.
  • Participate in development of promotions related to the group selling needs.
  • Stay current with all market-related publications to stay on top of all industry trends and uncover any potential leads.
  • Achieve targeted referral goals for all Omni Hotels.
  • Monitor reader board services for potential sources of new group business.
  • Stay fully aware of all Omni sponsored promotions.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Sales Action Plan (KRA's).
  • Submit weekly and monthly sales reports on a timely basis.
  • Maintain all Delphi accounts and bookings with current traces, accurate histories and all relevant information regarding booking activity.
  • Participate in the ongoing production forecasting process.
  • Is current and abides by all sales office procedures and systems.
  • Participate in meetings as assigned by the Director of Sales.
  • Attend morning daily business review (DBR) meetings to review sales opportunities.
  • Prepare and attend professional and impactful site visits.
  • Promote a high-quality company image by demonstrating professionalism to both clients and colleagues.
  • Recommend improvement of facilities and services as needed.

Qualifications

Experience Requirements: 

  • Minimum 3-5 years hotel sales experience selling in a major market.
  • Resort sales experienced preferred.
  • College degree preferred.
