About the role

Reporting to the Chief Risk Officer, this role will work with stakeholders from major programs of work to implement coordinated and strategic risk system enhancements and process improvements. This role will collaborate with vendors to ensure effective delivery of system requirements and ensure value for money.

This is a newly created position that will oversee a cross-functional risk and IT team making system and application changes, along with developing underpinning reporting, processes and support materials to operationalise the change.

Your background 

  • Manage, plan and direct all aspects of work for a project to ensure it delivers outcomes necessary to realise benefits as agreed by the project sponsor.
  • Develop and maintain detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates and resource plans.
  • Identify and manage risks and issues, develop plans to mitigate risk and implement these in a timely manner, measuring effectiveness.
  • Monitor the progress of plans identifying variances early allowing corrective actions to be taken in a timely manner, minimising impact.
  • Manage change throughout the lifecycle of the project ensuring decisions are made in a timely manner with full knowledge of the impact to outcomes and realisation of benefits.
  • Identify stakeholders, develop appropriate plans and complete activities to ensure necessary levels of engagement are maintained throughout the life of the project.

Technical Capabilities

  • Strong networking capability, demonstrated experience building networks of influence to support project outcomes.
  • Aggregates multiple related issues to understand the complete picture.
  • Considerable experience in procurement practices/processes including the development of statements of work, tender documents, evaluation of tender responses and supporting the contracting process.
  • Contract Management - Demonstrated ability to manage and evaluate performance according to contract and statement of work or Service Level Agreement.
  • Demonstrated initiative in driving projects forward and ability to make timely decisions based on facts while managing ambiguity.
  • Extensive experience using appropriate problem-solving techniques choosing solutions within project boundaries that maximise project benefits and minimises negative impacts.
  • Strong understanding of corporate and industry standards, project management tools and techniques.\

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications or equivalent industry experience.
  • Desirable PRINCE2 Practitioner.
  • Desirable Professional certification of a widely used Project or Program Management discipline. This may include Agile related certifications if appropriate (Certified Scrum Master certification or equivalent certification in Agile methodologies).
