The Governance Discipline is a small team of senior governance, regulatory and control experts who work within and alongside BBH’s asset servicing for global asset managers and banks division (i.e., Investor Services’ Service Delivery division) to ensure a consistent approach to governance, regulatory and control matters. The team develops, recommends, implements, and communicates policy, strategy and operational guidelines aimed at improving service and mitigating risks.
The Governance Discipline Senior Manager is accountable for a variety of horizontal initiatives, including acting as lead for Service Delivery on risk and market events, regulatory developments, new products and services, assurance matters and change events.
The Governance Discipline Senior Manager will drive more effective decision making through development and implementation of a governance framework that promotes transparency, consistency, accountability within and across Service Delivery. The Governance Discipline Senior Manager is responsible for oversight of the execution under that governance framework.
The Governance Discipline Senior Manager will work with internal leaders within Service Delivery to gain buy-in on an enhanced governance, regulatory and control framework and oversee development and implementation of the approach across Service Delivery. The Governance Discipline Senior Manager will directly manage a team of 0-10 members and is accountable for advising and influencing Service Delivery leadership and staff (globally ~3500).
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning & Governance
- Lead ongoing development and implementation of Governance policy and practice across SD
- Ensure governance approach provides transparency, accountability
- Ensure governance approach leads to more effective decision making across SD
- Collaborate with senior leadership to ensure preparedness for SD governance meetings (e.g., SDOC, MD Meetings) and other forums and events (e.g., townhalls, etc)
- Create/ Assist in creation of governance and event materials / executive presentations (e.g., ISOC, PIP, etc)
- Collaboration with CAO and Transformation leadership to ensure effective running of SD, including on topics of
o Regulatory Change
o Risk and Control
o Workforce / Human Resources
o Global Business Integration
o Change Management
o Business Transformation
o Strategic Alignment and Financials
- Ensure transparency on KPIs, product standards and material assurance matters across SD
- Lead / Drive development of KPI standards across SD
- Attend SD product oversight/governance forums
- Provide oversight to Product-specific governance programs, ensuring consistency, and improved communication/coordination across Service Delivery
- Lead across multiple functions and technical disciplines
- Assist with the development and implementation of SD produ
