Job Summary

In this highly dynamic role, the Wholesale Strategy Analyst supports special projects for Vistra’s Wholesale organization including commercial, generation and development.
This includes identifying, evaluating, and executing strategic opportunities and /or special projects for Senior leadership.

Job Description

Key Accountabilities

• Coordinates and supports problem solving efforts on complex, emerging operational and strategic issues, including evaluating the financial impact and opportunities of various strategic alternatives
• Provides organizational support and project management on strategic initiatives such as assessment of mergers, acquisitions, alliances, plant closure, new generation development, commercial opportunities and other projects as directed by management
• Coordinate/orchestrate projects and commitments directly involving Vistra’s President of Wholesale Operations, SVP of Commercial, and VP of Wholesale Strategy
• Develop ad hoc reports / presentations to meet evolving needs
• Evaluate potential M&A deals, gathering information and preparing materials for senior leadership review
• Coordinate teams of experts for diligence and execution of various projects
• Conduct analysis and research
• Have strong relationship building skills, and collaborative work approach
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, & Skill Requirements

• 4-7 years of experience in industry (corporate development / strategy, financial services, management consulting, or related fields)
• Experience with financial analysis, developing presentations, and project management
• Experience gained through college degree programs and/or certifications applicable to above skillsMinimum education is HS Diploma or equivalency

• Strong quantitative skills, in particular ability to analyze and assess complex data 
• Strong communication skills, including synthesizing and presenting complex information
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including diplomacy and flexibility, and the ability to interface effectively with personnel at many different levels throughout the company
• A proactive nature and "can-do" attitude
• Ability to function effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
• Demonstrated skill in utilizing financial tools and resources to model businesses; experience with MSWord, PowerPoint and other information-oriented computer applications required
