Lockheed Martin Space is seeking an Industrial HVAC and SCADA Engineer. The Payload Launch Sites Support Services (PLSSS) Program provides all launch processing support functions for Office of Space Launch (OSL). The program’s two primary operating locations are Vandenberg AFB, CA and Cape Canaveral AFS, FL. Key elements of the PLSSS program scope include satellite launch processing, satellite transport operations, satellite propellant loading operations, and satellite processing facilities O&M, clean room operations, and safety and environmental services.
The Engineer selected for this position will provide direct support for maintenance, operation, and project planning for Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) systems and various industrial controls systems for multiple facilities.
This role’s primary duty will consist of overseeing facility systems by:
• Work with a team of Industrial Controls and HVAC Engineers to complete both project and O&M tasks associated with Facility Operations.
• Working with and leading project teams for implementing improvement and recapitalization projects.
• Investigating SCADA system alarms and troubleshooting irregular sensors data
• Investigating and troubleshooting HVAC anomalies with technicians.
• Investigating sequence of operations of systems by analyzing source code.
• Investigating and replacing failed or non-conforming components
• Adjusting Alarms, Trends, and System Configurations, and Source Code to implement changes while maintaining operations.
This role may also:
- Identify scope of work for Controls Engineering designs based on preliminary review of customer requirements.
- Assess and analyze the operation of existing systems using detailed trend analyses.
- Implement small design upgrade projects or provide technical expertise for large projects.
- Update documentation to be incorporated in drawings by drafters and configuration mgt.
- Prepare detailed estimates and develops probable cost estimates for projects within the business unit.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Software Engineering, or equivalent.
• Programming experience
• Excellent documentation, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
• Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI w/Poly government security clearance.
Desired skills
• Experience with the design, analysis, operation, and maintenance of HVAC systems.
• Knowledge of psychometrics, fluid systems, heat transfer, and the refrigeration cycle.
• Ability to read, interpret, and apply mechanical system codes, drawings, and specifications.
• Experience developing technical documentation including system configuration documentation and process & instrumentation diagrams.
• Knowledge of IEC-61131-3 and programming languages used with Industrial Controls programming Standard.
• Experience using Schneider Electric, Trane, Siemens, or Rockwell PLCs
• Experience using the following Integrated Development Environment (IDE) Software: Citect, Unity Pro,
ControlXpert, PlantSCADA, or Trane Synchrony.
• Experience using BacNet or Modbus Serial/Ethernet based communications protocols.
• Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and/or Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA) practices.
• Experience with Network architecture design and troubleshooting
