Description of Work

This position is located on the grounds of Harnett Correctional Institution, is supervised by the Plant Manager, and will directly supervise Administrative Specialist I. The Plant Manager may assign additional duties as needed. The Assistant Manager may also request that this position perform tasks or complete special projects.

The primary purpose of this position is to process usage orders for correctional units and affiliated agencies. This includes releasing orders to print pick tickets (usage orders) for the delivery of commodities and entering these orders into the inventory control system. In addition, this position will handle all orders from non-correctional agencies and will prepare delivery tickets for those orders.

Other key responsibilities include:

- Completing the Weekly Processing Reports and Outside Sales Reports
- Updating and distributing Monthly Price Lists
- Maintaining all records related to the above tasks

This position is also responsible for answering all incoming calls to the plant on a multi-line telephone system.

Daily communication with the Administrative Specialist I is required regarding usage orders and to resolve data entry issues or discrepancies.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Range: $39,671 - $69,426

  • Experience running reports, drafting memos, and communicating via email utilizing Microsoft Office.

  • Experience in inventory control and processing usage orders using an inventory control system.
