Do you thrive in a collaborative, product-led environment across multiple brands? </p><p></p><p>We’re looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Manager with a passion for delivery excellence, developer experience, empowering their teams, and operational maturity to lead and coach engineering teams across group.one brands, including WP Media and RankMath. 🚀If you answered our questions with yes, keep reading and apply now!<br/> </p><h3>What you will be doing </h3><p>You will join group.one’s WordPress-focused product area, directly managing and leading our RankMath Backend &amp; Websites Engineering team, WP Media’s QA team and the BackWPup engineering team.</p><ul> </ul><p>Those teams handle development and validation of WordPress plugins &amp; websites in PHP, as well as backend services in Node.js. Previous experience with those languages is preferred.<br/>Your specific tasks will be:  </p><ul> </ul><ul> <li>Establish and improve delivery cadences, planning hygiene, and execution rituals. </li> </ul><ul> <li>Define, track and improve metrics related to throughput, flow efficiency, and predictability. </li> </ul><ul> <li>Define and implement testing strategies (unit/integration/e2e), automation coverage, and quality gates. </li> </ul><ul> <li>Implement observability standards (metrics, logs, traces), SLOs/error budgets, incident response and postmortems. </li> </ul><ul> <li>Reduce build and feedback times, standardize pipelines, encourage trunk-based development and safe releases. </li> </ul><ul> <li>Champion paved paths, templates, and tooling that make the right thing the easy thing. </li> </ul><ul> <li>Coach fellow Engineering Managers and Tech Leads to adopt best practices in delivery, quality, and operability; facilitate knowledge sharing, playbooks, and delivery reviews. </li> </ul><ul> <li>Partner with EMs to identify and remove impediments, refine workflows, and improve planning accuracy and team health. </li> </ul><ul> <li>Convert product and platform goals into executable roadmaps, capacity forecasts, and release plans. </li> </ul><ul> <li>Surface risks early, remove impediments, and ensure transparent communication. </li> </ul><ul> <li>Maintain a living engineering handbook, playbooks, and guardrails; facilitate documentation reviews and enablement forums. </li> </ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>Requirements</strong> <br/></p><ul> <li><strong>Being Yourself: </strong>Respect, collaboration, and inclusivity are some of our core values<strong></strong></li> <li><strong>Passion and humbleness: </strong>friendly, collaborative, and supportive<strong></strong></li> <li><strong>Proficient knowledge of English: </strong>Empathetic and collaborative communication is key: you are comfortable writing, speaking, and listening in English with technical and non-technical teammates</li> <li><strong>Solid PHP </strong><strong>&amp; Python expertise</strong></li> <li><strong>Experience in leading  product engineering teams (2-5 years)</strong></li> <li><strong>Past experience as developer</strong></li> <li><strong>Hands-on mentality </strong>if necessary </li> <li><strong>CI/CD, testing, and observability expertise</strong></li> <li><strong>Feedback orientation:</strong> giving and taking</li> <li><strong>Experience in mentoring and coaching</strong></li> <li><strong>Nice to have: </strong><ul> <li>SRE, cloud, and security familiarity.
