About the role

Purpose:

This position is responsible for the procurement, storage and flow of materials through the manufacturing facility to the customer.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Preparing the Production Plan based off forecast requirements and company inventory guidelines.   
  2. Analyzing and forecasting material requirements for JIT deliveriesPlacing orders with approved vendors, expediting the timely delivery of materials, and maintaining inventory levels within prescribed goals. 
  3. Creating, releasing, and routing work orders for production. 
  4. Evaluating and scheduling the transportation of all outbound loads for both domestic and international shipmentsProvide adequate lead time for carrier assignments and maximize full truck loads to control costCommunicates with and provides guidance to shipping/receiving area and prepares shipping paperwork as necessary.     
  5. Supporting other tasks as assigned related to the supply chain function and inventory.  
  6. Utilizing lean principles to achieve continuous improvement of the planning and scheduling process. 

 

Requirements, Job Related Knowledge, Experience, Education:

This position requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, with a specialization in Operations or Supply Chain Management, or 2 years equivalent experienceAlso required is exposure and/or experience with production scheduling techniques and methodologiesTier 1 automotive supply chain experience preferredSignificant experience with Microsoft Office requiredMRP knowledge and APICS certification preferred.
