About the role

Description

 

As the Maintenance Supervisor for Tangent, you will have the opportunity to directly impact the organization by providing guidance to all of our maintenance technicians across the organization. This is highly technical administrative and supervisory work primarily accountable for planning, scheduling, coordinating, and evaluating all maintenance jobs to insure maximum productivity of maintenance personnel and smooth, reliable operation of Tangent’s facilities.

Role and Responsibilities

· Develops and administers the preventive maintenance (PM) program to ensure that it is being performed in an efficient and effective manner.

· Coordinates and reviews corrective maintenance work requests and EPACs. 

· Administers the computer-based maintenance management system (CMMS). 

· Coordinates the development of work orders and maintenance procedures. 

· Plans and schedules the work of technicians with the area supervisors using the CMMS. 

· Plans and schedules planned/corrective work orders on a daily, weekly or longer-term basis to maximize efficiency and enhance productivity. 

· Ensures the spare parts inventory necessary is available to perform scheduled and preventive maintenance activities. Reorders stock to replenish.

· Develops technical specifications, obtains quotes and makes procurement recommendations for materials and services required to support the maintenance activities. 

· Coordinates, participates, assists in, and directs some or all the planning and scheduling of maintenance activities and work assignments, including outages and EPACs. 

· Reviews all maintenance work requests to insure correct accounting and documentation and generates various reports from CMMS as required.

· Assign technicians to complete equipment repairs based on production priorities and technician skills.

· Regularly re-prioritizes work in response to emergencies, availability of parts and equipment and to make efficient use of dedicated resources. 

· Plans projects, construction, maintenance and repair projects, including estimating materials, equipment and scheduling equipment and evaluating labor requirements.

· Provide technical guidance in identification and resolution of down equipment.

· Analyzes equipment repair records and makes recommendations to improve reliability and maintenance efficiency.

· Maintains data in the maintenance management system by ensuring accurate entering and updating entity information by assigned crews, employees, or supervisors. Analyzes and regroups entities; tracks work orders to completion and archiving; and supports the preparation of maintenance related reports.

· Assists in covering PTO and call-offs. 

Requirements

 

  Required skills/abilities

· Demonstrated knowledge and experience with production equipment maintenance processes

· Must have knowledge of electrical systems and wiring (including 120/480 volts)

· Must have experience and knowledge of machine operation and troubleshooting

· Must demonstrate an understanding of a safe work environment and have a proven ability to work safely

· Must have good verbal and written communication skills, capable of using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Education and experience

· Associates or bachelor’s degree in a related field

· 3 years in a manufacturing environment; extrusion or CNC

· Previous experience with leading small teams or scheduling

· Prior experience working in plastics manufacturing
