What will I be doing? 

H-GAC is seeking a TDM Supervisor to lead the Commute Solutions team within the Transportation Department. Through cooperation with local governments, transit agencies, and regional partners, H-GAC improves the quality of life for residents across the region. Improving mobility and creating multimodal transportation options are core elements in H-GAC’s transportation programs.

Commute Solutions is the regional travel demand management (TDM) program focused on reducing single-occupancy vehicle travel to reduce congestion and improve air quality. We partner with employers, universities, and community organizations to build commuter benefits programs and promote regional services that offer sustainable travel options, such as carpooling, vanpooling, biking, and public transit. Through these collaborations, we help improve mobility, reduce congestion, and enhance air quality across the Houston region. The TDM Supervisor will lead and provide support to the Travel Demand Management team, collaborating closely with peers to develop and implement strategies for travel demand management and outreach initiatives. Your primary responsibilities will include:

ü  Oversee the implementation of the recommendations outlined in the Commute Solutions program plan, ensuring alignment with the established program goals and regional objectives.

ü  Oversee program budgets, contracts, and resources to achieve program objectives effectively.

ü  Build and maintain strong relationships with public agencies, employers, local governments, TxDOT and transportation providers to advance program goals.

ü  Strengthen Commute Solutions' community presence by representing the program at executive-level speaking engagements, stakeholder meetings, and partnerships with Chambers of Commerce, and other community and civic groups.

ü  Oversee the design and execution of marketing campaigns to increase program visibility and commuter participation.

ü  Establish performance metrics to measure program success and evaluate its impact on congestion and air quality.

ü  Provide guidance and support to staff in program implementation, outreach, and performance analysis while setting priorities, conducting regular meetings, and fostering a motivated team through effective hiring, training, and professional development.

ü  Oversee consultant relationships by defining work scopes, coordinating deliverables, and ensuring quality project delivery.

ü  Ensure the program meets performance measures, stays on budget, and adheres to compliance standards while developing and implementing annual workplans aligned with H-GAC’s strategic priorities.
