Job Description

Purchase Customer Interface Manager

Naval Marine, Walpole, MA

As a Procurement Customer Interface Manager for Rolls-Royce, you’ll be responsible for the functional interface between Purchasing and an assigned project or program and delivery of the relevant functional goals. This includes ensuring that requirements are communicated; supporting Purchasing strategies developed and resource plans are developed and committed through the project lifecycle. Additionally, ensures that supplier and technology development strategies are embedded into Integrated Commodity Strategy and ensures compliance with relevant processes and resource application.  This role will cover the interface for Walpole Naval Marine Programs.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Strategy - Accountable for securing Purchase commitment to the project business plan and master program. Accountable for ensuring that, at each stage of the project, the customer requirements are understood and incorporated into functional strategy. Accountable for ensuring that Customer Project teams are conversant with the relevant Purchasing strategies, policies, organization and processes
  • Responsible for deployment of Risk Management process using standard tools and processes to identify key generic sourcing and functional risks and secure the required mitigation. Provides Customer interface with Purchase Risk Coordinator
  • Program management - Accountable for ensuring Purchasing and Project input to the Supply Chain requirements documents is achievable. Responsible for ensuring that Purchase plans are maintained, reviewed and supported by relevant management reports covering the key deliverables. Accountable for review of sourcing program status with customers in accordance with Program Management governance. Accountable for the management of cross SCU / Business Unit Purchase functional issues and risks
  • Stakeholder Management - Accountable for completion of the functional input to gated reviews and ensuring that resultant Purchasing actions are closed out in a timely manner. Responsible for presenting the Purchase Function project strategy and status to the customer as required
  • Project / Purchase interface - Accountable for engagement of relevant Purchase roles with the project. Accountable for co-ordination of major Project / Supplier interface events covering major schedule changes, Project and Customer Reviews
  • This role is responsible for creating trust, pride in delivery, customer excellence, solving problems, working with others, communicating and influencing, as well as managing work

Basic:

  • Associate’s Degree with 7 years’ experience in either Procurement, Supply Chain, Program Management, Project Management, and/or Finance experience OR;
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years’ experience in either Procurement, Supply Chain, Program Management, Project Management, and/or Finance experience OR;
  • Master’s degree with 3 years’ experience in either Procurement, Supply Chain, Program Management, Project Management, and/or Finance experience OR;
  • JD/PhD with 0 years experience
  • In order to be considered for this opportunity, you must be a US Citizen

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of Purchasing Strategy, Policies & Processes
  • Knowledge of Project Management processes, tools and techniques
  • CPSM, PMP, or equivalent certifications
  • Possesses the flexibility to respond to uncertain or ambiguous situations with a minimum of
