About This Job
Participate and lead initiatives of the Compliance Management System Program. Develop compliance programs and procedures to ensure bank products & services comply with federal and state laws and regulations. Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues and providing general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future.The Compliance team works to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, which enables the bank to operate successfully and to continue the bank’s growth and innovation in a highly regulated environment. Consistent with its expertise, Compliance also leads the CRA, Fair Lending, Training, and Policy development at the bank. The Compliance division is a small, nimble group of Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) that provides sound guidance to Business Units in support of the Unit’s growth and innovation objectives.
This Lending Compliance sub-division works to ensure compliance with the Bank’s credit policies, underwriting guidelines, and applicable federal laws and regulations which guide the Bank’s lending operations to allow successful continuance of the bank’s growth and innovation in a highly regulated environment. Consistent with its expertise, the Lending Quality Control (LQC) division is a small group of experienced underwriting/compliance staff that produces focused reports to the Lending Compliance Division and the applicable Business Units regarding the results of their review activity.
Responsibilities:
- Oversight of scheduled loan level documentation reviews, regulatory change management communication, and transactional testing on all lending products through focused and random sample basis
- Assess the appropriateness of the existing review scope and develop new or enhance approach to increase effectiveness of the CMS Program & Regulatory Change Management Program
- Participate and support in business unit touchpoint meetings communicate results and any required action steps
- Identify automation initiatives through data driven compliance monitoring to streamline processes, includes model validation, reporting and working with data analytics to identify business requirements and develop alerts
- Review effectiveness of existing alerts and ensure timely completion
- Participate in task force for the purposes of developing marketing campaigns, disclosures, new products, and customer facing or escalated regulatory questions
- Address regulatory concerns as applicable and identify solutions - Provide response and/or guidance to the Business Units, vendors, etc.
- Develop and/or own Management Directives and Policies for submission to Management/Board Committees
- Serve as Compliance Coordinator providing guidance aligned with Policy requirements
- Present & participate in Compliance Management Committee. Support OCC examinations as needed
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- 3+ years in banking/mortgage banking/audit/regulatory compliance
- Experience at loan level documentation review and transaction analysis
