Now, let’s make sure you’re a good fit for the role:</p> <p>This position is part of our Mobile Engineering organization, working on next-generation applications for premium global brands. As a <strong>Tech Lead Mobile</strong>, you will provide high-impact technical leadership: guiding architecture, elevating engineering standards, unblocking the team, and influencing the product roadmap through strong technical ownership.</p> <p>While this role does <strong>not</strong> involve direct people management, you will mentor engineers, drive technical execution, and ensure delivery of high-quality, scalable mobile solutions across iOS and/or Android.</p> <p>This role follows a <strong>hybrid model</strong>, requiring <strong>3 days per week onsite in Barcelona</strong> and <strong>2 days remote</strong>.</p> <h2><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></h2> <ul> <li> <p>Lead architecture discussions, define scalable solutions, and ensure adherence to high engineering standards.</p> </li> <li> <p>Guide technical planning, estimations, and end-to-end execution for features and initiatives.</p> </li> <li> <p>Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and technical coaching.</p> </li> <li> <p>Collaborate closely with Product Managers, designers, and backend teams to refine scope and align on priorities.</p> </li> <li> <p>Identify technical risks, remove blockers, and foster a proactive problem-solving culture.</p> </li> <li> <p>Contribute hands-on to mobile codebases, delivering features, fixing bugs, and improving performance as needed.</p> </li> <li> <p>Promote best practices in mobile development, including testing, CI/CD, observability, and architecture patterns.</p> </li> <li> <p>Influence engineering processes and roadmap decisions through technical expertise and strong communication.</p> </li> </ul> <h2><strong>Must-have Skills</strong></h2> <ul> <li> <p><strong>4+ years of experience</strong> leading technical efforts or acting as a Tech Lead within mobile engineering teams.</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong hands-on expertise in:</p> <ul> <li> <p><strong>Android:</strong> Kotlin, Jetpack Compose</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>iOS:</strong> Swift, SwiftUI</p> </li> </ul> </li> <li> <p>Solid understanding of <strong>data structures</strong>, <strong>system design</strong>, <strong>API design</strong>, and mobile architecture patterns (MVP, MVVM, declarative UI).</p> </li> <li> <p>Experience with <strong>Git workflows</strong>, <strong>CI/CD pipelines</strong>, and modern DevOps practices for mobile apps.</p> </li> <li> <p>Ability to drive architectural decisions, mentor other engineers, and elevate overall code quality.</p> </li> <li> <p>Strong communication skills with advanced English (B2+/C1).</p> </li> <li> <p>Ability to align technical execution with business objectives and product strategy.</p> </li> </ul> <h2><strong>Nice-to-have</strong></h2> <ul> <li> <p>Full-stack or backend experience, including cloud services, GraphQL, or Firebase.</p> </li> <li> <p>Background working on media, streaming, or news applications.</p> </li> <li> <p>Demonstrated interest in innovation and emerging mobile technologies.</p> </li> <li> <p><strong>AI Tooling Proficiency:</strong> Ability to leverage AI tools for drafting, research, analysis, automation, and recommending AI-enabled improvements to engineering workflows.</p> </li> </ul> <h2><strong>Work Model</strong></h2> <p>Hybrid role based in <strong>Barcelona</strong>:</p> <ul> <li> <p><strong>3 days per week onsite</strong></p> </li> <li> <p><strong>2 days remote</strong></p> </li> </ul> <h2><strong>What we offer</strong></h2> <ul> <li> <p><strong>A High-Impact Environment</strong></p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Commitment to Professional Development</strong></p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Flexible and Collaborative Culture</strong></p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Global Opportunities</strong></p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Vibrant Community</strong></p> </li> <li> <p><strong>Total Rewards</strong></p> </li> </ul> <p><em>Specific benefits are determined by employment type and location.</em></p> <p>Find out more about our culture <a href="https://www.instagram.com/wizelineglobal/">here</a>.</p>
