About the role

Job Description

At General Motors, our product teams are redefining mobility. Through a human-centered design process, we create vehicles and experiences that are designed not just to be seen, but to be felt. We’re turning today’s impossible into tomorrow’s standard —from breakthrough hardware and battery systems to intuitive design, intelligent software, and next-generation safety and entertainment features.

Every day, our products move millions of people as we aim to make driving safer, smarter, and more connected, shaping the future of transportation on a global scale.

The Role

At the General Motors N&V Center, we are responsible for integrating vehicle-level performance to meet customer expectations for Noise & Vibration (N&V) performance. This includes the up-front development of vehicle-level and subsystem requirements for components used in both internal combustion engine and battery electric vehicle applications. Developing these requirements is critical to how our customers perceive our vehicles from both a quality and overall performance perspective.

The ideal N&V Center Performance Integration Engineer is a fully qualified, experienced professional who is comfortable owning complex, cross-functional N&V integration challenges across multiple programs. This person will bring deep expertise in their area, broad understanding of adjacent domains, and exercise independent judgment on significant technical and product program matters. They will have an interest in a wide variety of work content, and in leading cross-functional collaboration with multiple component owners and the broader performance integration team.

This role provides a mix of lab development work, supplier and release support, validation support, and interactions with quality and manufacturing organizations. The candidate is expected to shape solutions, influence decisions beyond their immediate team, and drive continuous improvement in N&V methods and requirements.

N&V Center Performance Integration Engineers are a key part of the team transforming how GM handles N&V.  They will learn our current vehicle integration processes and play a leading role in modernizing our development techniques and tools into the future.  This engineer will need to operate as an  experienced professional with expertise in N&V and broad understanding of related areas as well as be willing and able to take on broad challenges and decompose them into initiatives capable of implementation.

What You'll Do

  • Serve as the primary N&V Center Performance Integration Engineer for assigned components, subsystems, or attributes, exercising independent judgment on complex N&V trade-offs across vehicle applications.

  • Provide direct support to the N&V Architecture Lead Engineers for future vehicle programs, proactively identifying risks and opportunities and proposing data-driven solutions and use advanced analytical and problem-solving techniques to resolve a wide range of non-standard problems with minimal guidance

  • Independently create and manage project plans for testing and execution to establish N&V requirements for any component on the vehicle (electrical modules, HVAC, interior components, etc.), covering structural noise and vibration, airborne noise, squeak & rattle, and regulatory items.

  • Own the creation, documentation, and cascading of N&V component and subsystem r
