Job Summary
The Clinical Dietitian delivers Medical Nutrition Therapy in the in-patient and out-patient settings.This position reports to the Lead Clinical Dietitian and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in clinical nutrition, food and nutrition or related area required.
Completion of a didactic program in dietetics and a supervised practice program approved by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education (CADE) of the American Dietetic Association required.
Credentialing by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) required within 6 months of hire.
Licensure in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts within 6 months of hire required.
One (1) to three (3) years experience as a clinical dietitian in an acute care hospital preferred.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the American Dietetic Association’s Nutrition Care Process and delivers Medical Nutrition Therapy according to defined department policy, procedure, and protocols.
Nutrition Assessment
Obtain/collect timely and appropriate data.
Analyze/interpret with evidence-based standards.
Documentation
Clear, concise and per department standards.
Nutrition Diagnosis
Identify and label problem.
Determine cause/contributing risk factors.
Cluster signs and symptoms/defining characteristics.
Document per department standards.
Nutrition Intervention
Plan nutrition intervention.
Formulate goals and determine a plan of action.
Implement nutrition intervention.
Care is delivered and actions are carried out.
Document per department standards
Nutrition Monitoring and Evaluation
Monitor progress.
Measure outcome indicators using department tools and reports.
Provides nutrition guidance to all areas of the organization.
Participates in committee activities as assigned.
Acts as a mentor for students, and dietetic interns.
Maintain professional growth and development through attendance at seminars, workshops, conferences or in-services, professional affiliations or journals to stay abreast of current trends in field of expertise and professional credentials.
Participate in Quality Improvement projects as assigned.
Meet annual competency and retraining requirements.
Perform other functions/duties as requested.
