BASIC FUNCTION:

Assists the Assistant Dean for Graduate Programs and Industrial Partnerships in the College of Pharmacy. They will execute any technical requirements for the development and implementation of Industry related fellowships and graduate programs; set timelines and coordinate budget priorities with the budget analyst, oversee other team members during special projects and engagements when directed; ensure/update website, social media, newsletters and frame scientific communication and lead the creation of manuscripts; generate progress reports; develop/update operations manuals for execution of the respective functions; external facing with sponsor companies and performing analysis and creating reports; maintain regular communication with the internal and external partners; and  At the same time, they have specialized expertise in the life sciences, have a pharmacist license and regularly collaborate with scientists and others with the creation/management of new and existing content/products and services.

SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY:

The candidate will have delegated supervisory responsibility for post-doctoral fellows and other support personnel within the department.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

Internal contacts include students, faculty, staff, and administration of the university. External contacts are with public and private organizations when directed by the Assistant Dean.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Above all, this role is responsible for ensuring that all programs and initiatives are developed on time, within budget and in line with all scientific/operational/regulatory requirements.

  • He/she keeps track of pending projects of interest to the program and moves them to completion by following up with key stakeholders and personnel.
  • Establishing and maintaining timelines for fellowships and other ongoing initiatives while ensuring proper compliance and completion of each one.
  • Staying up to date on all applicable regulatory guidelines, like rules from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration that may impact fellowships.
  • Keeping detailed records on the progress of research, initiatives, and programs, while ensuring compliance with university and industry guidelines.
  • Evaluating the results of initiatives/programs and in appropriate cases making recommendations halt initiatives. •Strategizes, develops, and execute ways to build sustainable funding for programs and initiatives utilizing both federal and private sector funding sources consistent with the University’s local and global mission. •Provides quarterly progress to the Assistant Dean and other stakeholders as deemed necessary.
  • Serves to enhance communications link to college, campus, and external stakeholders by sending regular communications to the Pharma community and external customers as directed by the Assistant Dean.
