Northrop Grumman Defense Systems - Sentinel (GBSD) Command and Control Application Software team is seeking a highly motivated and qualified Staff Software Engineer for Facility Security Systems Engineering in Huntsville, AL. Northrop Grumman supports the Air Force’s sustainment, development, production and deployment of hardware and system modifications for Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) Ground and Airborne Launch Control Systems, Launch Facilities and associated infrastructure.
What you will get to do:
Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:
- responsible for designing, implementing, and testing security systems to monitor and protect several facilities distributed across a large geographic area.
- Designs and implements security engineering systems with requirements of business continuity, operations security, cryptography, forensics, regulatory compliance, internal counter-espionage (insider threat detection and mitigation), physical security analysis (including facilities analysis, and security management).
- Establishes and implements system security designs.
- Validates system security requirements definition and analysis. Verifies security requirements; performs system certification and accreditation planning and testing and liaison activities.
- Ability to provide technical expertise in Security Operations Centers with centralized alarm and camera monitoring that protect assets across a global organization and PSIM integration
- Self-starters compelled to act in the workplace without requiring prompting from supervisors.
- Travel: 10%

Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Science with 12 years of experience; or Master's degree with 10 years of experience; or PhD with 8 years of experience. 4 additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
• Must have an active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need.
• Minimum 5 years of applying and understanding Systems Security Engineering principles applicable to US Government Defense and/or US Military Programs.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with any of the following: operations security, physical security analysis (including facilities analysis, and security management).
• Ability to provide technical expertise in Security Operations Centers with centralized alarm and camera monitoring that protect assets across a global organization and PSIM integration
• Minimum 5 years of experience in access control and video surveillance software applications.
Preferred Qualifications:
• An active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope
• Current Special Access Program (SAP) approval/access
• Direct experience applying Program Protection principles to US Government Defense Progr
