Central State Hospital (CSH), a State of Virginia mental health hospital located near Petersburg, VA, is recruiting for a Full-Time Equipment Repair Technician. The incumbent will be responsible for performing regularly scheduled maintenance and mechanical repairs to combustible engines and related electrical and safety equipment on motorized vehicles for the Southside Campus to ensure vehicle dependability, safety and to maximize useful life.

Job Duties:
- Performs preventive maintenance as assigned by Lead Technician or Supervisor to include all tasks listed on PM work order;
- Completes documentation accurately and timely;
- Ensures all related parts receipts are attached to work order before submission to Lead Tech;
- Inspects vehicle for any unreported repair needs and notify supervisor of all repair needs;
- Performs and/or assists with complex repairs to vehicles and equipment;
- Performs work within established safety requirements and current policies and procedures;
- Other duties assigned by Lead or Supervisor

Minimum Qualifications

- Documented training along with work experience in the maintenance and repair of vehicles
and motorized equipment.
- Valid Virginia Driver’s License.

Additional Considerations

- Certified Welder
- Valid State of Virginia Commercial Driver’s License with air brake endorsement.
