What You Will Do:
We have an opportunity for a motivated, self-directed Environment, Health and Safety (EH&S) Manager to support the Aurora Colorado campus, including customers and remote locations.
This position offers the EH&S professional an opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment to foster employee engagement and drive risk reduction and continuous improvement of the EH&S program.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Recognizing, evaluating and controlling hazardous workplace conditions.
- Taking proactive steps to ensure the safety and health of site employees and influence safe behaviors.
- Partnering with site POCs and EH&S subject matter experts to assure compliance including appropriate documentation to prove alignment with federal, state, local and company EH&S requirements.
- Executing initiatives, programs, reports and training across multiple EH&S disciplines, as required to achieve and maintain compliance.
- Preparing and managing documentation relating to safety and environmental policies in preparation for audits and to ensure compliance.
- Interacting with employees of all levels, promoting relationships, learning the tasks employees perform and becoming known as a resource to the employees at the Aurora, CO site.
- Contributing to the development and implementation of EH&S strategic initiatives that drive continuous improvement.
- Identifying environmental risk and supporting the sites’ environmental compliance programs, including hazardous waste management, stormwater and ground-water protection plans, air quality permitting, wastewater and toxic chemical reporting.
- Leading and developing a small team of EHS subject matter experts to assure compliance with applicable federal, state, local and company EH&S requirements.
- Maintaining OSHA VPP Star status certification.
- Developing and implementing sustainability practices and programs related to waste, water, and greenhouse gases in alignment with our long-term goals.
This job is posted as ONSITE, and is based at Raytheon’s Aurora, CO facility.
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Typically Requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience, or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
- Experience working with OSHA and/or EPA standards in a military or civilian environment.
- Leadership experience
- The ability to obtain a U.S. government issued TS/SCI with Polygraph is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Practical knowledge of leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics
- Previous experience working at an OSHA VPP (Voluntary Protection Program) site.
- Professional Certification in the EHS field (ASP, CSP, CIH, etc.).
