SUMMARY 

The Project Manager provides construction management and operation system support for the installation and engineering of various electrical power equipment and fuel systems for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), National Airway Systems (NAS), and the Power Systems Group. This position reports to the Program Manager and is responsible for managing resources, equipment, meetings, and information across multiple teams. The Project Manager organizes and executes projects on time and within budget using discretion and independent judgment. This position will travel up to 5% of the time.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
Essential Duties and responsibilities include the followingOther duties may be assigned. 

 

Performs surveys of existing power systems and associated equipment as well as the physical facility for adequacy of exiting equipment and to ensure new power system requirements are accommodated at the FAA facilities.  

 

Prepares contracts and negotiates changes to contracts with architects, consultants, clients, suppliers and subcontractors. 

 

Maintains records of all construction dates and project costs. 

 

Responsible for executing projects against established schedules as well as ensuring completion and appropriate filing of all necessary paperwork. 

 

Provides remote and on-site supervision and installation support to project field crews.

Schedules and facilitates daily, weekly and ad hoc progress meetings for field crews and client representatives. Completes daily safety and regulatory compliance checks of field crews and work products.  

 

Schedules installation of materials and services per project plan in coordination with the Program Manager. 

 

Coordinates the material supply chain to provide the needed site supplies. 

 

Performs project close-out procedures for managed projects including arranging archiving of hard copy files; receipts of necessary close out/turnover documents; compliance with close-out checklist. 

 

Analyzes and conducts performance tests of electronic systems. 

 

Reviews, edits and submits engineering technical documentation.    

 

Provides survey reports with assessments and technical data in accordance with FAA Facility Power Systems Program.  

 

Oversees design and development of engineering documents for specific electrical power system equipment installations including, but not limited to: engine generators (EG), EG fuel system(s), EG fuel tank(s), Uninterruptible Power Supply(s) (UPS), Static Transfer Switch, electrical distribution equipment, and associated power system support equipment such as, power systems control hardware/software, HVAC, physical facility and lighting. 

 

Creates and submits construction estimates, schedules and project oversight.  

 

Ensures safety requirements are met at all FAA worksites.
