About the Role
We are looking for a team of Traveling Operations Technicians who will split their time between traveling to bitcoin mining sites and supporting operations in our Denver Service Center. This role combines hands-on technical work in the field, server installations, maintenance, and collaboration with the in-house Denver team.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site installations, maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting of hardware, software, and systems at client locations and Compass Facilities
- Provide remote and on-site technical support, diagnosing faults, replacing components, running tests, and validating system performance
- Work in the Denver service center on days when not traveling: repair, refurbishment, testing, calibration, inventory management, assembly
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and project teams to plan rollout strategies, site readiness, and schedule coordination
- Document work via service reports, issue tracking, change logs, and client documentation
- Train clients or local staff on system usage, maintenance, safety procedures, and best practices
- Maintain tools, parts, and equipment inventory; order parts and supplies as needed
- Follow and enforce safety, quality control, compliance, and procedural standards
- Travel: booking flights, lodging, ground transport within our travel policies and travel management system.
- Occasional after-hours support (for urgent client issues)
Required Qualifications / Skills
- 2+ years of experience in field service, deployment, or technical installation roles
- Experience with hardware repair, diagnostics, system integration, and troubleshooting
- Comfortable traveling frequently, adapting to new environments, and working independently
- Strong problem-solving ability, self-motivation, adaptability
- Excellent oral & written communication skills
- Valid driver’s license, ability to fly / travel domestically (travel can be last-minute)
- Ability to lift / carry equipment, work in varying environments (climate, indoors/outdoors)
- Good time management, ability to juggle multiple site projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with remote monitoring systems, dashboards, telemetry
- Ability to read schematics, technical drawings, wiring diagrams
- Experience with network systems, cabling, connectivity (Ethernet, fiber, etc.)
- Familiarity with tools, test equipment (multimeter, oscilloscopes, cable testers, etc.)
Work Conditions & Environment
- Split time: ~50% domestic travel (may be overnight / multi-day), 50% in the Denver Service Center
- Physical demands: lifting, bending, climbing ladders, working in tight spaces
- Use of PPE
- Adherence to safety protocols
- Able and willing to carry approximately 49 lbs per day

- Reports to: Director of Global logistics and Services and Deployment Manager
- Works with: Ops team, Denver service team, engineering, operations, logistics
