Comcast NBCUniversal has announced its intent to create a new publicly traded company ('Versant') comprised of most of NBCUniversal's cable television networks, including USA Network, CNBC, MSNBC, Oxygen, E!, SYFY and Golf Channel along with complementary digital assets Fandango, Rotten Tomatoes, GolfNow, GolfPass, and SportsEngine. The well-capitalized company will have significant scale as a pure-play set of assets anchored by leading news, sports and entertainment content. The spin-off is expected to be completed during 2025.

We’re a subdivision of NBC Sports and home to leading technology platforms and digital applications for Youth & Recreational Sports; Golf; and Emerging Media.
At NBC Sports Next, we equip more than 30MM players, coaches, athletes, sports administrators and fans in 40 countries with more than 25 sports solution products, including SportsEngine, the largest youth sports club, league and team management platform; SportsEngine Play, the first ever streaming service for youth and amateur sports, GolfNow, the leading online tee time marketplace and provider of golf course operations technology; and GolfPass the ultimate golf membership that connects golfers to exclusive content, tee time credits, instructional content and more.
This role is part of our Youth & Recreational Sports group, comprised of technology platforms such as SportsEngine HQ, SportsEngine Motion, SportsEngine Play and SportsEngine Tourney. We enable athletes, parents, coaches and team administrators in the youth and recreational space to manage their organizations, collect payments, share schedules, find programs to participate in and connect with other families. Additionally, NCSI enables leagues and organizations to properly screen and train coaches in an effort to keep kids safe.

NBC Sports Next is hiring a Director of Sales who will report to the Vice President of Sales & Account Management. This role is responsible for leading a team of sales leaders and executing a demand generation strategy to acquire new customers and exceed revenue targets. The Director of Sales will also contribute to strategic planning within assigned sport verticals and support cross-functional initiatives through high-level decision-making.
Job Duties
- Establish and execute strategic plans to acquire customers and grow revenue within assigned segments.
- Coach, train, and develop the team in outbound techniques, product demand generation, and opportunity identification.
- Support senior leadership on quarterly and annual initiatives, taking a leading role across the sales leadership team.
- Assist and train new leadership members across the team.
- Lead organization and execution of department or company-wide meetings.
- Drive team engagement, enhance culture, and foster self-sufficient teamwork.
- Partner with sales leadership and HR to resolve employee performance and relation issues.
