Overview
The Temporary Help is an inexperienced temporary administrative position that provides office, clerical, and administrative support and assistance on a temporary basis. Assignments are usually limited to 6 month increments.
Essential Functions
1 Performs a wide range of administrative and clerical tasks to assist and support the administrative department; adheres to office and City policies and procedures.
2 Types form letters, memos, and other documents to assist clerical staff; demonstrates accuracy and speed ensuring effective transcription and document writing.
3 Answers the telephone and engages, assists, or directs callers to appropriate person or location; provides general information and determines necessary direction to send caller.
4 Performs general filing and document management.
5 Performs any tasks related to mail or document delivery throughout the department.
6 Assists in the operation of various office equipment to complete assigned task.
7 Performs general office management tasks including identifying low inventory on supplies and maintaining order.
8 Works on a temporary short term basis.
9 Performs any and all other work as needed or assigned.
Knowledge and Skills
1 Basic knowledge of office procedures.
2 Basic knowledge of telephone etiquette.
3 Ability to learn to operate computer keyboard and related software.
4 Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
5 Establishing and maintaining strong working relationships.
Licenses and Certifications
Licensed for at least two years.
Education
Juris Doctor and good standing with the Texas Bar.
Salary Range
The salary listed on this job posting is the starting salary range; amount offered will depend upon qualifications.
