The Assistant Athletic Director, Marketing and Digital Strategy in the Division of Recreation and Intercollegiate Athletics will execute a comprehensive marketing plan for DRIA with a focus on ticketed sports. This marketing plan should include a comprehensive digital marketing, digital strategy, and social media calendar with an emphasis on enhancing the Penn Brand and its exposure regionally, nationally and internationally.Job Description
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary marketing contact for all Varsity programs, Penn Relays and Penn Recreation, including direct oversight of at least one ticketed sport. Oversee all marketing and promotional efforts, while directly managing promotional calendar for at least one ticketed sport. Designs marketing plans using digital and traditional methods to increase sales. Collaborates with ticket office, creative services, video production and communication to increase ticket sales and student attendance.
- Synchronize key production areas and fan engagement tools on game days to ensure execution of established marketing/promotional plans, including, but not limited to, promotions, giveaways, crowd engagement, video, and game production, etc., for all assigned home games. An emphasis will be placed on providing memorable experiences for fans/community and creating a home court/field advantage for student-athletes through in-game entertainment.
- Develop and maintain robust and impactful marketing internship program. Serve as the primary liaison with the Penn cheer squash, Penn band and mascot, including budget oversight.
- Oversee all facets of the department's digital and social media efforts as it relates to graphic design, photography, and videography to tell the story of Penn Athletics while meeting brand standards. Develop and implement a comprehensive digital and social media strategy with a key focus on elevating fan engagement, growing our social media communities and enhancing the Penn Athletics brand. This includes sole ownership over the management of Penn Athletics accounts of TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
- Manage and implement Penn Athletics email marketing campaigns, collaborating with content providers and partners to ensure campaigns align with priorities and best practices. Create templates and engage in A/B testing for fine tuning and improvement.
- Serve as webmaster for Penn Athletics, to include websites for Penn Athletics, Penn Relays, Recreation, Racquet Centers, etc. This includes both websites (supported by SideArm) and updated mobile platforms.
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor of Arts and 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Bachelor's preferably in marketing. Prior sports information experience preferred. Computer knowledge with desktop publishing and in-game statistics mandatory; Knowledge of NCAA/Ivy League policies and procedures.
