Position Summary
A 360-degree leader with demonstrated past performance leading large organizations in complex environments. The Deputy Director of Flight Operations of MSM serves as the senior person responsible for the business unit flight operations. Achieves and maintains superior contract execution, product delivery, and customer satisfaction. Supports follow-on business development for MSM’s programs/customers.
Essential Functions Statements
- Supporting the Director of Flight Operations in the planning, organizing, managing & controlling all flight activities.
- In coordination with the department director, accountable for the professional standards of the flight crews and ensures that operations and training safety management goals are met.
- Responsible for ensuring flight operations and training in support of all contracts and directives.
- Assist in the development of MSM’s plans and programs.
- Evaluate and advise EVP Director of Operations and Director of Flight Operations on the impact of long-range plans, introduction of new programs/strategies, and regulatory action.
- Ensure that MSM is researching, preparing, and/or procuring documentation or analyzing requests in a timely manner in accordance with established guidelines to recommend the appropriate courses of action to senior leadership.
- Develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures of the organization that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the corporation.
- Support EVP Director of Operations and Director of Flight Operations in the implementation of planning, direction, and control required to meet the cost, schedule, and performance goals through the life cycle of MSM’s contractual opportunities.
- Liaise closely with other functions such as finance, legal, marketing, and communications to enable a comprehensive view of enterprise strategy.
- Develops and manages budgets for the flight operations department.
- Supports the Director of Flight Operations with goals, procedures & policies.
- Ensure that appropriate risk management processes are in place and that a culture of compliance with safety, flight standards, flight operations procedures, ground operations procedures, and company policies is embedded in the organization.
- Directs and implements training and exercise programs that meet federal, state, and local regulations.

- Experienced leader and flight operations executive with appropriate aviation industry / military experience.
- Must have a strong record of progressive responsibilities in the oversight of aviation organizations, including flight standards, cockpit resource management, safety and operational risk management, regulations, and direct flight command experience.

- Strategic visionary with sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus.

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a clerical, office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
