About the role

Introduction

Are you a Bachelor student in Computer Science or a related study, looking for an apprentice or graduation internship? Are you familiar with Matlab, Python and/or Shell and do you have a strong understanding of script development? Then this internship might be interesting for you!

Background information

The Optical Column mechatronics group is part of the Development and Engineering Department of ASML. This group develops new products to fill in technological gaps in the future roadmap of lithography and the lithography market and helps support costumers with complex field issues. Focus of the team is on Mechatronics systems that reduce the aberrations in the DUV Lens column using a variety of actuation principles e.g. piezo mechanical systems, pneumatic and thermal actuation.

Your assignment

In the mechatronics group, a lot of scripts are being used (mainly matlab, but also python and a few shell scripts). These scripts are now being stored in a separate repository for our group but there is currently no process in place for version control, testing and releasing. The goal of this assignment is to define and implement the processes for the development and maintenance of scripts used in our group.

This includes the following steps:

  • Do an investigation in other mechatronics groups in ASML and gather best practices on existing script development and release processes

  • Collect requirements for a script development and release process for our group

  • Define script development and release process adhering to these requirements

  • Implement process in the group, automate where possible (for example automatic regression tests)

  • Where needed, modify current scripts according to this process (for example coding guidelines, enable automatic tests)

  • Document process and way of working and roll out to the engineers

Your Profile

To be a perfect match for this internship, you:

  • Are a bachelor student in Computer Science or a related study.

  • Are familiar with Matlab, Python and have knowledge in Shell.

  • Have a strong understanding of script development.
