Senior Accountant (nonprofit)

GHJ has partnered with a well-known non-profit in Los Angeles to help identify a Senior Accountant to join their dynamic team.

Responsibilites

• Prepare and oversee the timely and accurate completion of all financial reports, including quarterly and annual financial statements, for both internal and external stakeholders.
• Assist the accounting team with month-end and year-end closing.
• Responsible for general ledger maintenance and account reconciliations.
• Coordinate with the finance team to develop and implement effective financial policies and procedures that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
• Collaborate with the auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure all financial records are well-maintained and readily available for review.
• Serve as a key resource for any financial inquiries, both internally and externally, and provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3+ years of experience, preferably within the non-profit sector.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and standards, with a demonstrated ability to interpret and apply relevant regulations and guidelines.
