In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains.  Our legacy Injectable Finished Products (IFP) facility in Clayton, NC is a 457,000 square foot aseptic "fill and finish" site that is responsible for producing innovative, injectable diabetes and obesity treatments. The Position

Oversee & drive the Project Management Office and the cLean Operations teams for the site through formulating, communicating & implementation of corporate & local strategies that effectively support the manufacture of products through managing projects & overseeing cLEAN & Six Sigma techniques in accordance with the Novo Nordisk Way (NNWay).

Leading the modernization of our flagship manufacturing facility in Clayton NC. As a valuable member of the Senior Leadership team, this position will develop and empower the management teams within two prominent departments.

 

Relationships

Reports to Corporate Vice President.

 

Essential Functions

• People management, to include people selection, expectation setting, motivation & development
• Set up & manage governance process, including local & central stakeholders
• Develop & manage project budgets & perform periodic cost & productivity analyses
• Implement continuous improvement within the project organization via cLEAN methodologies
• Ensure high level of collaboration with corporate functions & direct customer/stakeholders
• Support organization set up & resources integration
• Lead Capital Improvement Projects across site
• Participate as member of Senior Leadership Team in setting plant goals, objectives, policy & selection of continuous improvement projects
• Follows all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties
• Other accountabilities, as assigned

 

Physical Requirements

Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time (% can change on a case by case basis based on the role).

 

Development of People

Supervisory, ensure that reporting personnel have Individual Development Plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process. Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility. Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.

 

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, or business from an accredited university required
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a manufacturing organization required, pharmaceutical manufacturing preferred
• Minimum of five (5) years of managing other managers experience required, preferably in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Project Management with significant impact & investment budget required
• Strong leadership skills preferred
• Excellent written & verbal communication skills required
• Excellent presentation skills
