Job Title: Sr. GL Accountant Group/Team: Finance Reports to: Assistant Controller Location: Beaverton, OR Employment Type: FT, Salary, Exempt Travel: 0-10% THE OPUS GROUP The Opus Group represents a shared services model that provides administrative support to our “house of brands.” Our house of brands includes Opus, MAS and Verve. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR The Sr. General Ledger (GL) Accountant is responsible for maintaining the company’s general ledger and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements. This role involves overseeing the month-end and year-end close processes, managing journal entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing reports that comply with accounting principles practices and techniques in accordance with company policy and GAAP. This position works within the Accounting team and interacts with and is expected to maintain positive relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. YOU SHOULD HAVE
- 3-5+ Years of general ledger accounting experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus
- Exceptional skills and accuracy in reconciling accounts
- Ability to effectively deliver and work with minimal guidance or direction
- Highly accurate to process high volume of invoices with minimal error
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize workload on multiple projects simultaneously
- Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to deliver effective, accurate results
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (basic formulas and pivot tables)
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Manage and maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and classified.
- Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and supporting evidence.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring that balances are accurate and substantiated by supporting documentation.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in account balances, preparing adjustments as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements in all aspects of the accounting process.
- Perform ad-hoc financial analysis and reports as required
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements.
