Description
The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures at the University of Michigan invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Spanish, with a specialization in Latin American and/or Caribbean Studies. We are particularly interested in candidates whose work challenges traditional national language or identity-based models, with preference for Black and/or Indigenous studies, in any period. This is a university year appointment to begin August 25, 2026.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Hispanic Studies or a relevant discipline, and have a demonstrated capacity to teach courses in their area of expertise in Spanish.
