Job description

Summary

The Warehouse Manager is responsible for day-to-day warehouse operations. Key metrics include on-time shipping, fill rate, and shipment accuracy. The Warehouse Manager leads, coaches and mentors the warehouse personnel to meet or exceed site goals, as measured by metrics and budget attainment.

 

Responsibilities

• Manages positive outcomes for order processing, receiving/put-away/replenishment, returns processing, inventory accuracy/cycle counting, and other warehouse-related tasks.
• Reviews warehouse headcount and tracks progress against budget goals and targets.
• Monitors service performance and takes action to correct shipping and accuracy problems.
• In conjunction with Human Resources and the Distribution Manager conducts performance reviews of department staff.
• Develops and trains employees, constantly working to promote from within.
• Initiates corrective actions and continuous improvement activities.
• Achieves year-over year improvement in productivity, safety, and service metrics.

• Maintains a safe and positive work environment.

Position Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate work experience.
• Minimum 5 years of warehouse operations supervisory experience.
• Excellent written and verbal skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills. Able to minimize conflict. Ability to deliver performance feedback to employees.
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and transportation management systems (TMS). Able to learn and use SYSPRO system.
• Experience using Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
• Ability to interpret data, develop metrics, and communicate performance to subordinates.
• Strong customer service, public speaking, and motivational skills.
• Experienced management of material handling equipment.
• Attention to detail.
• Safety orientation.
