Job Summary:

The Regional Testing Director is a key driver of quality clinical care with a focus on providing access to care, patient engagement, and clinical outcomes. This position has primary clinical oversight of clinicians and psychometrists providing psychological and neuropsychological testing (PNT) and accountabilities for PNT service line in an assigned region. The secondary responsibilities of the position extend to supporting other work performed by psychologists including psychotherapy, training, and education, in collaboration with other teams whose primary functions encompass these aspects of practice. The Regional Testing Director is expected to implement procedures, policies and standards for clinicians and staff that follow clinical best practices for psychologists and that drive the success of the PNT service.

Accountabilities:

  • Implement regional strategic service model in collaboration with Clinician Leadership Team and Vice President, Practice Operations

  • Achieve clinical objectives and key results as defined by Executive Clinical and Vice President Operations, by monitoring test site goals and performance of clinicians and psychometrists, forecasting regional testing needs, and approving test supply purchases

  • Lead clinician training, coaching, and education of best practices and clinical documentation with the Regional Testing Director’s region, or in across other regions in collaboration with other clinical leaders

    • Multidisciplinary “lunch and learn” 

      • Common therapy modalities, medication treatment, and PNT evaluations 

      • Availability of specialty services or groups 

      • Introduction of new treatment modalities and interventions 

    • Journal club  

      • Focus on top 5 diagnoses and evidence-based practice for these diagnoses 

      • Clinical pathways for top diagnoses 

      • Measurement based care 

    • Service-line specific case consultation groups 

    • Office hours for drop-in coding, documentation, clinical quality guidance 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Recruit to ensure service is staffed with qualified clinicians 

    • Review and approve clinicians offered second interviews 

    • Assess clinical competency and appropriate scope of practice based on patient demand and regional need 

  • Responds to testing intake and patient escalations

  • Investigates and responds to clinical integrity concerns to mitigate risks and liabilities related to care delivery (e.g., critical incidents, board complaints, patient complaints, quality of care concerns) 

  • Provides monthly updates on state-specific board rules, licensing and payor requirements or changes 

    • Monitors ongoing changes to state regulations to ensure clinical compliance 

    • Ensures adherence to all HIPAA, confidentiality, and clinical safety standards in accordance with state and federal regulations. 

  • Implement clinical best practices and follow federal, state, and company coding and documentation requirements  

    • Advise operational processes that follow legal guidelines, internal policies, and quality standards 

    • Monitor medical records and other documentation to ensure that they are current and within state and federal law 

    • Advise process for clinical onboarding of clinicians to promote caseload ramp, clinical best practices, and adherence to documentation policies. 

    • Advise clinical offboarding process for clinicians to ensure caseload closure, clinical best practices, and adherence to documentation policies. 

  • Conduct clinician reviews and feedback to clinicians on performance to help motivate their dedication to professional goals

    • Chart review
