Job Description

The IT Project Manager will lead project planning, initiation, execution, management and closeout for new or established IT projects.  The role is working with an inhouse Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).  The IT Project Manager will need to have laboratory knowledge and LIMS experience.  They will utilize their industry knowledge and project experience to improve all aspects of software development. 

 Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Analyze, plan and develop requirements and standards in reference to scheduled projects
  • Establish and implement training processes and strategies for all technical personnel
  • Assign and oversee the daily tasks of IT personnel while ensuring all subordinates are actively working toward established milestones
  • Hold regular technical team meetings to determine progress and address any questions or challenges regarding projects
  • Determine and define clear deliverables, roles and responsibilities for staff members required for specific projects or initiatives
  • Update and maintain all production technologies ensuring proper maintenance and installation

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Team of 2 Developers, both working remotely.

Internal contacts:

  • Project Manager Professionals
  • Web Developer Team
  • Users at all levels of the company.
  • Consulting with the Marketing group on client-facing products.
  • Working with technical experts
  • Consulting with Quality control

External contacts:

  • Regular contact with clients to discuss problems, feature requests, and training.
  • Web design consulting firms that may contribute to client-facing products from time to time.

Material and Equipment Used

  • Computer and operating software.
  • Windows based PC.
  • Personal protective equipment when in laboratory areas.

Physical Requirements

  • Body Positions: Sitting (90% of time) for testing, analysis and design, walking (10% of time) when moving about laboratory.
  • Hand Use: Computer keyboard.
  • Hearing: Conversational hearing ability.
  • Vision: Viewing computer screen and reading communications.
  • Speaking: Conversational speaking ability.

Environmental Conditions

Typical indoor office environment. Potential exposure to caustic, corrosive, or carcinogenic samples exists when in laboratory areas.
